From a Home Kitchen to Main Street

Jamba Jollof started with one passionate cook, a home kitchen, and a following that showed up before there was ever a sign on the door. Husband and wife owned, today it's Hattiesburg's and Mississippi's only West African restaurant — and Southern Mississippi will never eat the same.

Before the Sign on the Door

Bold cooking and word of mouth — no storefront, no marketing. A grassroots following formed around Jamba Jollof before there was ever a sign on the door.

Landing on Main Street

The leap to 1015 N Main Street in downtown Hattiesburg made it official — one of the only West African restaurants in all of southern Mississippi. A cultural first for a region that had never seen anything like it.

The Food Does the Talking

Jollof rice, egusi and fufu, efo riro, beef suya, pepper soup, zobo — every dish rooted in Nigerian tradition, made fresh and unapologetically Naija. Weekend specials keep regulars coming back.

The Hour After Closing

Jamba Jollof has stayed open nearly an hour past closing because a new guest walked in and nobody wanted to turn them away. That's not a policy — that's just who we are.
